in california state university system are getting a refund thanks to voter approval of prop 30. the measure rolls back all of this year's fee increases. many students will get back $249 the end of the month in the form of a direct deposit. other campuses are crediting students next semester. >>> defense attorneys around the state are preparing to ask judges for reduced sentences for thousands serving life sentences in prison for relatively minor crimes. it follows the passing of prop 36 tuesday which revises california's three strikes law. up to 3,000 could be apply to be released or receive a shorter sentence. public defenders say it could take up to two years for courts to revisit old sentences. prop 36 was passed with 69% of support. >>> in 20 minutes -- [ unintelligible ] caltrans shutdown highway 13 between broadway terrace and moraga avenue out of concern today's storm might trigger a rock slide. crews installed large rocks to prevent smaller rocks above from falling on to the highway. they have put up settlement barriers along the showed -- put up cement barriers along the shoulder.

[ laughter ] we passed a weird measure in l.a. measure b will require porn stars to wear condoms in all adult films shot in los angeles. primarily male porn stars. the women do not have to wear them, but -- i believe this is the first election in which i voted on an erection. it is unique to us in hollywood. the way it works, every adult film shoot in l.a. have to to pay for a permit and the money from the permits will go to fund periodic condom inspections. for real. people will be carrying cards that say condom inspector on them. california governor jerry brown went to the polls to vote near his house yesterday. unfortunately, the guy voting next to him brought his dogs, one of wish took a particular interest in the governor.
